A warm, socially intelligent girl in Simon's new class who becomes one of his first acquaintances — though she's one of the few people who makes him work for it. Hana is perceptive in a way that unsettles Simon; she laughs at his charm without being charmed by it, and she sees the calculation behind his polite smiles. She's the first person to treat him like a puzzle rather than a prize, and that makes her both an irritant and, unexpectedly, a genuine connection. She's also friends with Rin, which puts her in a unique position to notice the strange tension simmering between the new transfer student and her guarded best friend.
