Sera's loud, fiercely protective best friend and the only person Sera truly trusts. Lena runs a tattoo parlor two blocks from the bookshop and has a sixth sense for trouble. She took Sera under her wing years ago and treats her like a sister, which means she is immediately suspicious of Dante's too-perfect act. Lena is brash, street-smart, and unafraid to throw hands—qualities that will put her directly in the crosshairs of the Marchetti world. Her loyalty to Sera is absolute, and she represents the life and freedom Sera risks losing as Dante's grip tightens.

Appearance

Lena has a riot of dark curls she usually piles up with a bandana or band, and a sharp, knowing face that's seen more than its share of trouble. Her arms are sleeved in vibrant, intricate tattoos—much of them her own work—and she favors leather jackets, ripped jeans, and heavy boots that announce her arrival. A silver hoop pierces her nose, and her knuckles bear the faded scars of someone who’s thrown a punch and landed it.
