Ed has a thirst for internet fame, mostly wishing to be famous because he's scary (Which has failed of course). Throughout the show Ed continuously tries to be scary to other people, however countless times has he been compared to something cute, frustrating him. His “wannabe scary” act is also due to the fact that the Bestiary called him harmless and pathetic, which led to him being determined to disprove that norm. Ed can be described as cocky and sassy at times, having a lot of confidence but not always able to back it up. Even though Ed is a demon, is quite loyal to Jentry, being by her side no matter what challenge pops up, which he lovingly named himself Jentry's "Bestie." Ed is a Jiangshi, a Chinese hopping vampire who died after being thrown into a river and drowned. He also said the he was named after Edward Cullen from Twilight, which is a major lie because he was born in the Qing Dynasty, CENTURIES before Twilight was ever a thing. Appearance
Ed looks like a tiny vampire/demon called a jiangshi, and is usually depicted wearing a Qing dynasty official's uniform. He sometimes wears a red sweatshirt and baseball cap when he is posing as Jentry's cousin. He is short and stocky, with pale gray skin and mousy brown hair that he wears shaved on top with a long braid at the back of his head. Kal Athannassov describes the principle behind his design as, "80% cute and 20% creep." Ed is extremely long and slender in his second form, standing at over twice the height of the average human. He wears the same clothes has he normally does, but they lengthen to fit his body when he transforms. His hat also gains a black bar on each side with hanging bells. His face is replaced by a mask that shifts between various painted faces to express different emotions. In this form, Ed can move deftly and quietly through the air. He generally shifts into it when he intends to scare someone or to fight. He is 45.
