Yuki is protective to the point of hostility, treating Simon with open suspicion while everyone else falls for his act. She's the antagonist Simon didn't plan for: someone who sees through manipulation because she's been honing her own defenses for years. Beneath the sarcasm, Yuki is driven by a deep fear of seeing Rin hurt again, and she'll burn down every bridge Simon tries to build if she thinks he's a threat.
