Hana Ashwick has the same unruly dark curls as her sister, though hers are perpetually tied back with a leather cord to keep them clear of potion fumes. She wears a practical linen dress beneath an apron stained with splashes of indigo and dried herbs, with deep pockets always bulging with phials and twist-tied paper packets. Her hands are chapped and pricked with tiny scars from years of thorns and alembic mishaps, and a pair of brass-rimmed spectacles—Ivy's first successful enchantment—perch at the tip of her nose.
